A Toxic Backlink is BAD.  it’s those spammy links from Low-Quality sites. They can hurt your site’s ranking in Search Engines (Google) for a long time.

Years ago (2008 timeframe) Google turned a blind eye to backlinks with Low-Quality.  At the time Any Link you got was considered a VOTE or an Endorsement For Your website. (it still pretty much is.. but it’s a lot different now. )

The Rule in SEO back then was. “The Guy with the Most links Wins”

So, every SEO Noob was using an “Automatic Blog Commenting tool” that they picked up for $200-$1000. It would scrape THOUSANDS of Blog Posts and then post a useless comment on that blog post, with a keyword link to their site. (usually within the name section on the blog comment.  It was SPAM and Google pretty much ignored it for a few years.

But Not Anymore!

Now in 2022, you have to be aware of the quality of the link.

Google Got HIP and Made some BIG changes. Apart from calculating the quantity and quality of links pointing to your website, Google now looks into several other ranking factors.  These include the linking site’s page authority, search ranking, and relevance. More importantly, Google evaluates the editorial nature of your backlinks.

How to check for TOXIC LINKS?

You may already know that high-quality backlinks will boost your search performance positively. Bad links, on the other hand, can potentially harm your business’s online performance. But how do you acquire good links in the first place? Where do you start?
